Apple Crisp

Wash, quarter, peel, core, then thinly slice the apples into an 8-inch square baking dish. Sprinkle the apples with raisins, lemon juice, lemon zest, then dot with the butter. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, toss the flour, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg together. Then cut in the margarine to the flour mixture until the particles are the size of small peas. Spread the crumb mixture evenly over the apples. Bake at 375° for 40 minutes or until the apples are tender and the crust is crisp and well-browned. Serve warm or cold with cream, if desired.
