Beno's Apple Cake

Cake

Ingredients:

• 1 1/2 cups sugar
• 1/2 cup butter
• 2 eggs
• 1 1/2 cups flour
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1 teaspoon soda
• 1/2 cup pecans
• 3 cups apples, chopped not peeled

Instructions:

Beat eggs, then add butter and sugar and beat until smooth. Add flour and soda, mixing well, then cinnamon. Add pecans and apples, mixing thoroughly. Bake at 350° for 40 minutes, then cover with topping.

Topping

Ingredients:

• 6 tablespoons butter
• 1/2 cup cream
• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
• 1 cup nuts
• 1 cup coconut flakes

Instructions:

Mix all ingredients together and spread on the cake, then place the cake under a broiler.
