Preheat the oven to 350° Grease and flour a 10-inch tube pan. In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and shortening. Gradually add sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Dissolve the baking soda in the buttermilk. Combine flour and salt in a small bowl and add to creamedmixture, alternating with buttermilk mixture, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix well after each addition. Stir in the lemon and almond extracts. Pour the batter into a prepared tube pan. Bake 1 hour and 15 minutes or until it tests clean. Let the cake cool in the pan for 15 minutes before removing.
