Frozen Orange Whip

Boil the sugar and water until the syrup spins a thread, roughly 5 minutes. Add the zest and orange, cover and keep warm for 1 hour. Cool, then gradually add to the whipped cream. Pour the orange syrup into a refrigerator tray, then place alternating layers of the cream mixture and chopped pieces of orange until the tray is full. Freeze until firm.
