Rub the fruits through a sieve, collecting 1 cup of fruit pulp and juice. Add the salt and sugar to taste. In a small saucepan, cook the water, 1/4 cup of sugar and gelatin, stirring until the sugar and gelatin melt. Add to the fruit mixture then pour into a refrigerator tray or bowl. Chill until thickened, then beat until very light. Fold in the heavy whipped cream and freeze in a refrigerator tray.
