Fudge Cuts

Melt the chocolate and shortening in the top of a double boiler. Remove and blend in the sugar, then the eggs, then add the flour and salt. Beat well with a spoon. Add the vanilla extract and mix. Pour into 2 greased 8x8x2-inch baking pans and spread smooth, then sprinkle with nuts. Bake in a moderately hot oven at 400° for 12 minutes, then cool. Cut into squares and enjoy!
