Heat the molasses to the boiling point, then pour it over the shortening. Sift together the flour, baking soda, gingegr and salt, then stir into the mixture. Shape 1/4 of the mixture at a time, keeping the rest of the dough in the refrigerator until you are ready to cut it out. Roll as thin as possible and cut out with a small round cutter. Bake at 350° until crisp and dry, roughly 8 to 10 minutes.
