In a large bowl, cream together the sugar and butter until light. Add the egg yolks and mix well. Blend in the flour, lemon juice and milk and mix well. Fold in the egg whites. Fill the custard cups about 3/4 full and place in a shallow pan containing hot water. Bake in a 350° for 45 minutes or until set. The bottoms of the cups will contain a delicate custard and the tops will resemble spongecake.
