Preheat the oven to 350°. Crush or grind the zwieback into fine crumbs and place in a mixing bowl. Add the butter and sugar and mix well. Press mixture across the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch springform pan.

Beat the cream cheese at low speed with an electric mixer until the cheese is smooth. Add the sugar and cornstarch and continue beating until creamy. Add the eggs and vanilla and beat until thoroughly mixed. Pour mixture into the crust and bake for 30 minutes or until just set in the cetner, taking care not to overbake. Remove from the oven and cool.
