Pound Cake Loaf

Cream butter and shortening then gradually add the sugar, beating well. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Combine the flour and baking powder together and then add to the creamed mixture, mixing well. Add the milk and beat for 5 minutes at medium speed with an electric mixer. Stir in the extracts. Pour the batter into a greased and floured 9x5x3-inch loafpan and bake at 325° for 50 to 55 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool the loaf in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove from the pan and cool completely on a wire rack.
