Quick Oatmeal Cake

Pour the boiling water over the oats and let stand for 20 minutes. Cream together the white and brown sugar and margarine, then add the eggs and beat well. Sift together the flour and soda, then add to the creamed mixture along with the oats, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Pour into a baking pan and bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until the cake tests done.

Sprinkle the pecans and coconut over the cake. Cream together the margarine, cream and brown sugar, then boil for 1 minute. Pour over the cake and brown lightly under a broiler.
