Cream shortening with sugar then beat in eggs and whip until the mixture is fluffy. Sift together the flour and baking powder several times. Add the milk and salt to the fluffy mixture then blend in the sifted mixture. Beat for a full minute then pour the batter into a well-greased and floured shallow pan and bake at 400° for 10 to 12 minutes. Cut into squares and serve hot with butter & honey.
