Six-Week Bran Muffin Mix

Pour boiling water over 2 cups of bran buds. Set aside.

Mix together dry ingredients - the remaining bran buds, flour, soda, sugar, cinnamon and raisins. Mix together liquid ingredients in a separate bowl - eggs, oil, buttermilk and the bran buds with water. Add the liquid mixture into the dry mixture and blend. Store in four 1-quart covered containers or in a 1-gallon jar. Let set in refrigerator at least overnight. Bake in small (2-inch) muffin tins, lightly greased. Bake about 20 minutes at 350°. Makes about 8 dozen muffins, dough keeps for a minimum of six weeks.
