Sweet Biscuits

Combine first 5 ingredients, mixing well. Cut in the butter with a pastry blender until the mixture is coarse. Add the buttermilk, stirring until the dry ingredients are moistened. Shape the dough into a ball and knead lightly 4 or 5 times. Roll the dough to a 1/2-inch thick on a lightly floured surface and cut with a 1 3/4-inch biscuit cutter. Place the biscuits on ungreased baking sheet and brush the tops lightly with milk. Bake at 400° for 12 to 15 minutes.
